Microrings are the easy way to achieve long hair! Rapunzel's Stick Hair method is easy to attach and lasts for 4-6 weeks. If any of the pieces falls out over time, you can easily reattach it in the same way. Here we show you how easy it is and give you all the tips you need!

The method, also known as I-tip extensions and Cold Fusion, is named after the shape of the pre-glued pieces. These extensions are easy to attach and remove and their smart design means that you don't need heat, tape or glue. To use Stick Hair extensions, just attach the hair strands using microrings. The microrings are silicone-coated on the inside and are available in several colors for a natural result that matches your hair.

This method is great for adding length, thickness or special effects. These extensions are available in several easy-to-blend shades to match your hair!

Attaching microring hair extensions

Before inserting your microring hair extensions, it is a good idea to wash your hair with a deep cleansing shampoo. This makes sure that old product residue and grease from the scalp disappears, so the hair attaches better to the micro ring. You should not use conditioner or other styling products. Allow the hair to dry and make sure it is completely dry when it is time to attach your extensions.

  1. Part your hair, starting at the back, near your neck.
  2. Take a microring by the hook and open the eye. Grab a few strands of your natural hair with the hook.
  3. Pull the hair through the microring.
  4. Insert the pointed end of your Stick Hair into the microring. You should feel some slight resistance – if you don’t, more hair is needed to prevent the hair from slipping.
  5. Then squeeze the microring firmly with the pliers.
  6. Keep going until you achieve the desired result.

Replacing microring extensions

One major advantage of microrings is that they can easily be replaced. You may need to do this if your hair extension begins to slide down from the attachment, if it feels like the attachment is chafing, if you want to replace the hair, or if you just want to refresh your hair extension. You can then use the same tools as when you attached the hair and simply replace the microring with a new one.

How to do it:
  1. Place the pliers on the microring on the section you wish to replace.
  2. Open up the attachment by pinching the ends of the microring. The microring will return to its round/oval shape.
  3. Pull out the hair piece and gently pull out the micro ring.
  4. Replace the old microring with a new one. (Microrings can be purchased separately if you don’t have any extra rings from your last hair extensions.)
  5. Then perform the same steps as when you put your hair extensions in place (see above).

Removing microring extensions

When you want to remove your microrings and your hair extensions, your hair should be completely dry. In order to minimize wear on your natural hair, you should never tear or pull hard on your hair. Instead, follow our instructions to make the process as smooth and easy as possible. Use pliers intended for removing and inserting microrings. (The same ones you used attaching your hair extensions.)
  1. Grasp the microring with the pliers.
  2. Open the attachment by pinching the microring at the ends. The ring will then return to its an oval/round shape.
  3. Pull out the hair piece and gently pull out the micro ring.
  4. Repeat for all pieces.
  5.  And you’re done!

Washing your extensions

To make sure your hair extensions have the best possible chance at longevity, we recommend hair care products with a lot of moisture and nutrition. Rapunzel's haircare series contains ingredients that provide just this – and they smell amazing!
Tips for a real moisture boost! Use a hair mask at least once a week. Always finish with conditioner.
Use our easy guide if you need to wash your extensions. Always start brushing your hair before washing to remove any tangles. Using a soft hair brush, start the tips and work upwards in sections:
  1. Rinse the hair in lukewarm water.
  2. Apply shampoo to the roots and then conditioner to the tips, avoiding rubbing.
  3. Rinse carefully between applications and then let the hair dry. Also, be sure to straighten out your attachments with your fingers.
  4. Remember not to use conditioner, styling products or heat on your attachments, as this may cause hair to slip out.
Avoid salt or chlorinated water
When swimming, it's a good idea to put your hair in a bun in the middle of your head, or just use a swim cap. You won’t have to dry your hair, and you’ll avoid damage from salty or chlorinated water.

Brush your extensions often

Rapunzel's brushes are designed for hair extensions, and make the hair easy to brush. Brush approximately twice a day, and be sure to comb through your extensions with your fingers. You’ll avoid knots, and your hair will stay fine and glossy. When brushing your extensions, start at the tips and work upwards in sections. This reduces damage and makes the hair easier to detangle.

Brush and sleep with dry hair

Damp hair is more sensitive than dry hair, so it's a good idea to brush it before you shower. Carefully comb through your moist hair with your fingers and allow it to dry before brushing it again. Sleeping with wet hair is a big no-no. It will damage both your natural hair and hair extensions, so it’s best to avoid it.

Styling your extensions

Hair extensions are a fun way to get tons of options for length, color effects and volume. They can be cut and styled to fit your look. If you will be heat styling, we recommend using heat protection products beforehand. Also, remember not to use heat near your extension attachments, as the pre-glued attachment may melt and slide out and the microrings can damage the surface of your heating tool.

Braid your hair when you sleep or exercise

Braid your hair when you go to sleep or exercise. It makes your hair un-tangled and you also have nice curls in the morning. Win-win!
